Lucy Kiely in black dress singingThe Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

In late 2021 Lucy was announced as the winning lyricist in the ‘A Song for the Commonwealth’ competition, commissioned by The Commonwealth Resounds! in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Her lyrics entitled ‘A Life Lived with Grace’ were set to music by Nigerian composer Fr. Vincent Atueyi Chinemelu and performed worldwide, including at Buckingham Palace by Grammy Award-winning vocalist Gregory Porter, as the Beacons were lit on 2nd June 2022.

UK Songwriting Contest

In late 2021 Lucy was also announced as a semi-finalist in nine categories of the prestigious UK Songwriting Contest! In early 2022 she was announced as a finalist in the World Music category with her original song ‘Divina Costiera’.

In late 2021 Lucy was featured by the Italian Tourism Board (Australia and New Zealand) on its global online radio program ‘Australians Love Italy’ which is now available at the following link:

Earlier in 2021 Lucy was also the featured artist on the online radio program ‘Hot, Sweet and Jazzy’ hosted by Ross Williamson of ‘The Pulse’ – 94.7 Geelong Community Radio which was played on rotation on various community radio stations around Australia.
